Warning! Do not start looking at this post if you are tight on time! When I started to gather the pictures I wanted to share from this amazing day, I realized that I wanted to share over 100 of them!!! There are not 100 here… but it isn’t far from it! Perhaps there are so many because I became very emotionally wrapped up in this day! Michelle and Michael are two amazing individuals. They are genuine people who work hard everyday and try to make the world a little better than it was the day before. Michael even managed to spend some time visiting with my little girls before his wedding day and they couldn’t stop talking about how nice “big Mike” was.
The day started with my second shooter Alisa spending time with Michael and the guys. Needless to say, her experience was a little different than the one I had with the girls! Take a look!
Don’t get me wrong, I had a fantastic time with Michelle and the ladies as they got ready for the day. It was just a little more business and a little less poker and drinking than the guys! Michelle was surrounded by all of her friends and family as she got ready for the big day. I think there were over 20 women getting ready in this room. It was like clockwork! Before we get too far into this post, I need you to know that Michelle thought of EVERY possible detail for the day. This wedding, by far, was the most elaborate, detailed, and thought out wedding I have seen yet! You’ll see what I mean!As we waited for the trolley to arrive, Michelle stepped away for a moment to collect herself. She was so excited to be marrying the man of her dreams! This was how guests were greeted as they entered St. Paul Cathedral. I told you, the details…With all of the excitement just prior to the ceremony starting, Michael quietly looked out over the church taking it all in.
I was unaware of all of the unique signs that would appear throughout the day. This one was DEFINITELY the best… and my tears started. The entrance of the bride on her big wedding day is no little moment. And when you are in St. Paul Cathedral, well it is nothing less than magical! There are no words to express…So, you may not have caught on to this yet, but when I said that this day was grand, so was the bridal party! This is by far the most people I have ever had to photograph in a bridal party! It was a very dark night, but we still managed to get a few shots on the Mellon Institute steps. These two are compliments of Alisa! That’s not all! We then stopped at the PPG Ice Rink before the ceremony. We crammed in as much as we could to every second! It was a beautiful winter evening, and the scenery was amazing! As I’m writing this, I just remembered a comment that I heard near the rink… and I’m crying all over again! As we walked by on our way to the horse -drawn carriage, a little girl whispered something to her mom. She looked at her smiling and said, “Yes honey, that is her prince charming.” My eyes welled with tears then, just as they are now.
PPG Square on a winter evening. It doesn’t get better than this!Stunning! After a little fun outside in the cold, it was time to head to the Crowne Plaza Pittsburgh Airport for the reception! The celebration continued with touching speeches from the maid of honor and best man.Though I expected humor from the best man, I did not expect the rest of his touching speech. I know I have mentioned getting teared up during this, and many other weddings, but never, ever, have I been so touched by a speech. I could not describe my reaction as being choked up or teary, I was sobbing as tears rolled down my cheeks during this speech. It definitely took a minute to collect myself. I love this family! The cake was beautiful!Their first dance was remarkable! And thanks to Alisa and her angle during these next few shots, they will never forget the magic of it!I wasn’t the only one tearing up…The rest of the dancing was just as memorable! The mother-daughter dance…(Oops! Someone else tried to steal the show!)
… and the mother-son dance……and every dance after that!Congratulations Michelle and Michael! May every day be as magical as this one!
